A Community Site for Architecture and Design in Second Life
Virtual Bletchley Park - a call for collaboration
I am overseeing a new Open Source, Open Business, Open Innovation project based around recreating a Virtual Bletchley Park.
Everyone who is involved in the project has offered to give their time freely when and where they can to recreate Bletchley Park on an Open Sim but also to populate it with the must current advanced technologies to showcase the talents of various organisations. This would include Cross Reality and Augmented Reality technolgies.
Essentially it is a networking space and a cultural, science commons to bring architects, coders, teachers, musicians, sculptors, AR and Cross-Reality specialists together to build a project that is not only worthwhile educationally but also a brilliant place to meet people involved in the latest technologies globally.
For those of you who do not know about Bletchley Park - it was the UK codebreaking centre during WWII and was through the efforts of Alan Turing and others, the birthplace of modern computing and virtuality.
Initially we want to draw people together for a pre-meet in-world to guarantee people's reservations about IPR and Creative Commons licenses necessary for the work. But it is also a fantastic opportunity to cross-pollinate with others working in blue skies innovation worldwide.
Everyone approached has been extremely enthusiastic about this project as they realise it could be a crucible for new business and professional relationships that could lead to the forging of innovative technologies and it is the perfect showcase for someone's talents and expertise.
